There is no doubt that Robert St. John is a breakfast guy. Between running his seven restaurants, publishing a weekly syndicated column, guiding dozens of groups through Europe every spring and fall, and working with his charity Extra Table, somehow Robert has found the time to publish his thirteenth book, Mississippi Mornings (it must be all those fantastic breakfasts!).

His ode to the day's most important meal is full of classic Southern dishes and updated twists on familiar favorites. With 12 essays and more than 100 recipes ranging from Sweet Potato Pancakes to Crawfish Étouffée over Garlic Cheese Grits to Cathead Biscuits with Country Ham, this beautiful collection and Robert's Southern hospitality is brought to life with photography by Kate Dearman.
ROBERT ST. JOHN is the author of twelve books and owns Crescent City Grill, the Mahogany Bar, Tabella, Ed’s Burger Joint, The Midtowner, Loblolly Bakery, and ENZO Osteria. For 20 years, St. John has written a weekly syndicated newspaper column and has been named Mississippi’s top chef numerous times. St. John is also the creator, producer, and cohost of the PBS series Palate to Palette. He is also the producer of the acclaimed documentary Walter Anderson: The Extraordinary Live and Art of the Islander, about the reclusive Mississippi artist, for which he received a Southeast Emmy Award for best historical documentary. Founder of Extra Table, a nonprofit organization providing healthy food to Mississippi soup kitchens and pantries, St. John is also a founding member of the Independent Restaurant Coalition. Recently, he was an integral part of a small group that secured $28.6 billion in grants to aid independent restaurants affected by the COVID crisis. St. John serves on the board of the Mississippi Book Festival and is cofounder of the Institute for Southern Storytelling at Mississippi College. Robert St. John and his wife, Jill, have two children, Holleman and Harrison and make their home in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
